Click here to view the Evening Record article
dated August 7, 1918, where Henry Reitsma tells of meeting two friends, Louis Meyer and Marty Keenan, from
Old Company G from Hackensack while walking in France.

Henry also mentions how he is working on brand new
Harley Davidson motorcycles. He must have been a mechanic of sorts while in service. What one would pay for an original 1918 Harley today.

On the original Honor Roll list, which was in the newspaper in 1918, there is a John Rietsma with the ‘ei’ reversed to ‘ie’, this could be a typical newspaper error and they may be related.
